Most Newer Vehicles are equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) cameras. After windshield replacement has been completed we will need to recalibrate the ADAS cameras.  ADAS cameras sense Forward Collision Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning System, Collision Mitigating Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Driver Status Monitoring, Adaptive Headlighting and Traffic Sign Recognition.  After windshield replacement has been completed we will recalibrate the camera system to make sure all cameras are functioning correctly. This is to increase the safety of you and your vehicle and to reduce collision possibilities. ADAS uses image processing cameras and other sensors to monitor vehicle surroundings and detect potentially dangerous situations from occurring.

WARNING: The ADAS may not function properly until it has been recalibrated. There are some Camera Systems that have a message or warning symbol that may appear if the ADAS is not operating correctly. Please do not rely on the operation of the Camera System until it has been properly recalibrated by Easatlake Auto Glass.

 

ADAS is made up of two parts of calibration depending on the type of vehicle, which is either Static, Dynamic or Dual (Static and Dynamic)

Static Calibration is done in shop with specific lighting, level floors, targets, Lazers, patterned boards and specific measurements per manufacturer. That way the camera and computer may identify them.

Dynamic Calibration is done out on the roadways at a certain speed for a certain amount of time on well-marked roads per manufacturer of vehicle. During this process our system is plugged into your OBD to let the computers communicate with each other. The vehicle will then alert us once the calibration has been completed and successful.

Dual Calibration is when Static Calibration is done first and Dynamic Calibration is done immediately after.
